Exploring India: My Multiple Home Locations and City of Dreams
As an
SEO professional, my journey through India has been a fascinating blend of work and exploration. My work relocates me between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with my primary work locations being Cochin and Bangalore. However, my holiday retreat is a bit closer to my heart—a place I call Palakkad in Kerala.
From Amurrican to Nawabi: My Journey Through India
Previously, I spent three years traveling across India, making my way through major cities like Lucknow, which is also famously known as the CITY OF NAWABS. During this time, I encountered a myriad of experiences, some good and some quite challenging. My initial encounters were not always welcoming; in places such as Gurgaon, Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai, I faced harsh discrimination and even encountered attempts on my life due to biases related to language, politics, and cultural misunderstandings.
Punjabi American Struggles in India
The experiences I faced were the result of a complex web of social and cultural tensions that are still prevalent in the country. It was a grueling period, as I continuously navigated a landscape rife with misunderstanding and prejudice. Eventually, following a very close call in Mumbai (Bombay), I found sanctuary in Bangalore. This city has become my second home, a place where I can express myself freely and find people who appreciate my work and content.
Bangalore: My City of Dreams
Since settling in Bangalore, I have witnessed significant personal and professional growth. My channel, which focuses on fitness, social media content, and dating in India, has gained immense popularity. Over the past two years, my videos and content have garnered approximately 10 million views. Beyond these milestones, I have also become the most viewed writer on four different Punjabi Quora sections in February. Although I remain a single bachelor, my work continues to thrive, bringing a sense of fulfillment and joy to both my viewers and local community.
Bangalore: A City of Dreams and Variety
Bangalore, affectionately known as the Film City, is a place where dreams come alive. The city has a vibrant and diverse culture, with a rich culinary scene, beautiful parks, and a bustling arts and film industry. The locals here are some of the most friendly and welcoming people I have had the opportunity to meet in my travels.
Karnataka: A Blend of Histories and Modernity
Karnataka, the state that contains Bangalore, is a fascinating blend of ancient and modern history. This region is home to a variety of architectural wonders, including one of the most beautiful museums in the world, one of the oldest structures, and magnificent Mughal-era forts. Additionally, the state boasts stunning dams and lakes, which offer plenty of leisure and recreational activities. Perhaps the most iconic is the Tipu Sultan’s Ghat, a beautifully maintained, picturesque spot that perfectly captures the essence of Bangalore.
A City of Clues
Given the rich offerings of Karnataka, I decided to challenge you with a puzzle. Here are some clues about my city:
